Class Rules

Attendance in all classes plays a critical role in student success. Progress is difficult and often unachievable without regular attendance.

All students should arrive to class on time. This means a student is expected to arrive early dressed and with hair ready and proper uniform before entering dance class. For music students, they need to come prepare with book, pencil and notebook. Students more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to participate.

All students must follow Studio Arte dress code policy.

No jewelry may be worn to class other than small earrings.

There will be no food or gum permitted in the studio.

Student must keep talking to a minimum.

Any student who repeatedly disrupts the class will be dismissed from class.

Students or Parents need to call the studio at (203) 663-1414 to let their teacher know if they are going to miss class or by email studioartect@gmail.com.

Teachers should be addressed with respect. Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Yohanna, Mr. Carlos, etc. This is to help the students maintain a more professional demeanor.

Be respectful of yourself and others. Kindness goes far. No foul language will be tolerated.

Parents are not allowed to enter ongoing classes as this creates a distraction and may frighten younger dancers. Parents: If you need to remove your child early from class, please inform the teacher prior to class. If an emergency arises, please inform the front desk, and they will quietly bring your child to you. This will reduce class distraction and student anxiety.

Observation is permitted from the waiting room windows where available or in the studio during observation week each semester held in February. Please refrain from peeking through the door. This is a distraction to teachers and students.

Parents: Please be prompt in picking up your children at the end of class. Teachers tend to have classes back to back, and we cannot baby-sit students. If they must wait, please notify the front desk and have your child prepared ahead of time with some work to keep them occupied. The studio will not stay open more than 10 minutes after the last class of the evening.

  • Extreme Weather or unexpected Interruption of Classes

If the school must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, the missed lessons will be added on to the end of the teaching year. No refunds for lessons missed due these reasons will be given. If there is a cancellation, you will receive a text message on your phone.

  • Substitutions

The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is ill and the school cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made-up.

  • Cancelled Classes

Classes with less than five students may be cancelled, combined, or rescheduled at Studio Arte discretion.

  • Safety

Safety for your child is of our utmost concern. All young dancers must be escorted to and from the building. No child will be allowed to leave the studio with anyone other than a parent unless with proper notice from parent.

  • Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available. Please inquire at the front desk for details.
